Incoming is a teaser CD single from the UK synth-pop band Blue October. With their new album waiting in the wings, this CD-5 gives us a glimpse at what we can expect.
Incoming (Coralpaperturn Mix) contains tribal rhythms and beats, benign vocals, and quirky / catchy sequences. Mixed in amongst this is a smattering of NASA samples and a hollow clanging sound.
Abandoning all electronic elements, When You Leave (Live Acoustic) is built around the vocals, piano progressions, and an acoustic guitar.
The Orange Magma Mix of Incoming is full of energy and is bound to lift your spirits. Considering there are only two original piece son this CD, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what Blue October’s full length will sound like, but what we can hear on Incoming is a band that can create music with or without the aid of electronics.
